Do I need planning permission for a garden room in Ireland?
Garden structures up to 25 m² at the side or rear of a house are generally exempt from planning permission, provided height limits are respected, at least 25 m² of open garden remains and the room is not used as a separate dwelling. Changes proposed in April 2026 could raise the exemption for standalone garden cabins to 40–45 m², but these are not yet enacted law — always confirm with your local authority.
Can a garden room be used all year round in the Irish climate?
Yes. Every MF Timber House garden room includes 100–150 mm floor insulation and 100–200 mm mineral-wool roof insulation as standard, with an optional wall insulation kit for full year-round comfort. Double-glazed timber joinery keeps heat in and Irish weather out.
How long does a garden room installation take?
Typical lead time is 8–10 weeks from order to handover, with the on-site assembly itself usually completed in days. Delivery and professional assembly anywhere in Ireland are included in the price.
