Do I need planning permission for a garden room in Ireland?
Since 27 July 2026, a back-garden structure such as a garden room, home office or gym can be exempt from planning permission up to 30 m² (previously 25 m²), provided it is not used as a separate dwelling and the conditions on siting, height and remaining open space are met. Always confirm your site with your local authority.
Can a garden room be used all year round in the Irish climate?
Yes. Every MF Timber House garden room includes 100–150 mm floor insulation and 100–200 mm mineral-wool roof insulation as standard, with an optional wall insulation kit for full year-round comfort. Double-glazed timber joinery keeps heat in and Irish weather out.
How long does a garden room installation take?
Typical lead time is 8–10 weeks from order to handover, with the on-site assembly itself usually completed in days. Delivery and professional assembly anywhere in Ireland are included in the price.
