Timber Cabins & Garden Rooms in Kerry
Insulated Nordic timber cabins from €14,500 incl. VAT, with delivery, professional assembly and a 10-year structural warranty.
Kerry is the furthest we travel and in some ways the most demanding. The county combines Ireland's highest rainfall with full Atlantic exposure on the peninsulas and a tourism economy that makes holiday cabins the main reason people call us. None of that rules out timber — it does mean the specification conversation is longer and we would rather have it before you order than after the first winter.
Most Kerry work lands in two groups: letting units and guest cabins around Killarney, Kenmare, Dingle and the Ring, and family accommodation on sites near Tralee and Listowel. Transport is included in the price even at this distance, and the crew travels with the materials.

Delivery, access and ground conditions
Kerry is roughly 300 km from our Dublin yard, about three and a half hours by road. Transport is included and the assembly crew travels with the delivery.
Kerry is the wettest part of the country. Roof overhangs, working gutters, a drained gap at the base of the walls and a disciplined recoating routine matter more here than anywhere else we work.
The peninsulas are fully Atlantic-exposed. Orientation and fixing specification change on these sites, and large glazing needs to be placed with the prevailing wind in mind rather than only the view.
Mountain and boggy ground is common. Rock gives an excellent base; peat needs a proper foundation design before anything is ordered.
Access on the Ring of Kerry and the Dingle peninsula can be genuinely tight for an articulated delivery. We check the route in advance and, where needed, transfer to a smaller vehicle for the last stretch.
What people in Kerry build
Holiday cabins and guest accommodation
The main Kerry use. Killarney, Kenmare and Dingle support year-round visitors, so a well-insulated cabin earns in shoulder season too — subject to the Irish short-term letting registration rules.
Family accommodation on home sites
Around Tralee and Listowel the brief is more often a granny flat or a home for an adult child. A 32–45 m² auxiliary dwelling to the rear of the main house can fall inside the exemption introduced in July 2026.
Garden rooms and studios
Artists' studios, home offices and gyms inside the 30 m² garden-room exemption, specified for the Kerry climate rather than a sheltered inland garden.
Models we recommend in Kerry
Every price includes delivery to your Kerry site, assembly by our own crew and a 10-year structural warranty.
Planning permission in Kerry
The planning exemptions are national, not local. Since 27 July 2026 a back-garden structure such as a home office, studio, gym or store can be exempt from planning permission up to 30 m² (previously 25 m²), and a detached auxiliary dwelling of 32–45m² to the rear of the main house, connected to its services, can be exempt with 14 days’ notice to the council.
What does change locally is everything around the size limit: zoning, scenic and conservation designations, protected structures and the conditions on siting and remaining open space. That makes your local authority the only reliable answer for your specific site:
