Timber Cabins & Garden Rooms in Dublin

Insulated Nordic timber cabins from €14,500 incl. VAT, with delivery, professional assembly and a 10-year structural warranty.

Dublin is our home county. Our showroom and yard are at 109 Naas Road, Dublin 12, so for most Dublin addresses the delivery lorry and the assembly crew are on site within an hour of leaving us. If you want to see the timber, the joinery and the roof build-up before you commit, Dublin is the easiest place in Ireland to do it — visits are by appointment so someone who knows the product is always free to walk you through it.

Dublin gardens are typically the smallest we work in, and that shapes what we recommend. Most Dublin enquiries end up with a compact model used as a garden office, studio or guest room, sized to stay inside the 30 m² planning exemption. Larger family models are usually for sites in the north and west of the county rather than inner suburbs.

What people in Dublin build

Garden offices for Dublin commuters

The most common Dublin request by a wide margin. A 20–25 m² insulated room with power, broadband and double-glazed joinery replaces a spare bedroom desk and gives you a door you can close at six o'clock.

Guest and family accommodation

Adult children staying at home and visiting family are the second driver. Within the garden-room exemption the room works as a studio or home office; used for sleeping it becomes a different planning case, so we go through that with you before you order.

Studios, gyms and letting units

Dublin rents make a garden studio an investment as well as a convenience. We supply the shell or a turnkey version with the bathroom plumbed and fitted, ready for your electrician to certify.

Planning permission in Dublin

The planning exemptions are national, not local. Since 27 July 2026 a back-garden structure such as a home office, studio, gym or store can be exempt from planning permission up to 30 m² (previously 25 m²), and a detached auxiliary dwelling of 32–45m² to the rear of the main house, connected to its services, can be exempt with 14 days’ notice to the council.

What does change locally is everything around the size limit: zoning, scenic and conservation designations, protected structures and the conditions on siting and remaining open space. That makes your local authority the only reliable answer for your specific site:

Exemption figures last reviewed 18 September 2026. Source: South Dublin County Council — New Exemptions 27.07.26. This is general information, not legal advice — always confirm with your local authority or a planning professional before ordering.
