Garden Offices in Limerick, Waterford and Kilkenny: Timber Workspaces Outside the Big Cities

Remote and hybrid work has changed how people use their homes outside Dublin too. In Limerick, Waterford and Kilkenny, gardens are often generous, which makes a timber garden office a practical way to separate work from family life without moving house.

Why Regional Gardens Suit a Timber Office

Larger plots mean more choice of position. You can place the office away from the house for quiet, take advantage of morning light and keep a short, sheltered path to the door. A well-insulated timber building stays comfortable through damp Irish winters and does not need a large heating load.

Planning: Check Before You Order

Back-garden structures such as home offices, garden rooms and gyms are exempt from planning permission up to 30 m², subject to conditions, under the rules in force since 27 July 2026. Conditions apply, so always confirm the details with Limerick, Waterford or Kilkenny County Council before you order.

Practical Points for Your Site

  • Base: a level, well-drained foundation is the first step; we advise after a site review.
  • Access: check gate width and lane access for delivery of the panels.
  • Electrics: installed and certified by our partner electrical contractor and quoted separately after a site review.
  • Broadband: plan the cable route early so your connection is ready on day one.
  • Finish: every cabin in Ireland is anthracite, roof, walls and gables.
